Appointments

We offer a range of options to support you depending on budget, need and location.  If you are unable to find what you require please contact us and we will try and find a way to assist you. We currently offer the following:

  • Home based pre and postoperative physiotherapy

  • Phone advice (currently free of charge whilst we pilot this service)

  • Zoom sessions

  • Complimentary WhatsApp support whilst undergoing any regular treatment (Mon-Fri 0900 -1700)

Please allow around 60-90 minutes for any appointment, whether this is for prehabilitation or postoperative physiotherapy. Future appointments may be shorter but we still allocate 60 - 90 minutes to remove any time pressures and to allow time for answering any questions you may have. Providing you with the care and support you need is paramount to the service we offer.

Referrals

If you have already been operated on, we will require a referral letter from your surgeon before your first appointment.

If you are considering surgery and have not decided whether to go ahead, and would like to learn more about what we offer, please contact us directly and we will arrange a call - there is no charge for this service.

Prehabilitation

Prehabilitation, or prehab, is the process of preparing patients for surgery to improve recovery afterwards. By assessing a patient before surgery, a personalised plan can be created to support healing. Prehab has been shown to reduce the length of hospital stays, lower the risk of complications and readmission, ease stress, and help patients return more quickly to daily life, work, and hobbies.

Prehabilitation may include an assessment of your home, health, mobility, and surgical goals, as well as a chance to discuss concerns and learn about postoperative care. With support and thorough preparation you should go into hospital feeling informed, physically and mentally prepared, and ready for a smooth recovery.

Prehabilitation sessions may include a review of the following:

  • Home layout

  • Current mobility

  • Postoperative weight bearing expectations and how to manage these

  • Use of crutches or other walking aids

  • Advice on how to prepare for surgery including home adaptations, food prep, home life in general, caring responsibilities, etc

  • Exercises for before and after surgery

  • General health advice

  • Explaining what is likely to take place during your hospital stay, and how to ensure a smooth discharge home

You will also receive a phone call approximately one week after your procedure to check that everything is going smoothly and provide any further advice to ensure you have the best chance of an easier recovery. Should you not wish to continue with us for postoperative physiotherapy you will be discharged from our care after this phone call.

Postoperative Physiotherapy

If you wish to continue with us after surgery we offer postoperative physiotherapy in the comfort of your home as well as remotely. This may not be suitable for all patients so please enquire and we can see what is best for you.  If you own a pool we can also offer hydrotherapy sessions.

Postoperative physiotherapy sessions may include:

  • Designing a treatment plan

  • Progression of home exercises

  • Agreeing realistic goals

  • Answering any concerns you may have

Home Visits

We currently only offer Home Visits in some parts of London and in the Watford area but please do enquire as this may change and we may be able to assist in finding someone close to you if needed.
